Things on the left side of your chest by Mercedes Killeen

Eternally empty pockets
Sloppily placed at
The breast of your shirts

Will never be filled
And will remain

Dark,
Hollow

Cavities

I see your fashioning shorter poetry now. Once again you have accomplished a great intro, but this time I feel that the emotion here isn’t finished. There must be a balance of length and magnitude of portrayal. Nonetheless, the constant annoyance of never filling this void does arouse the sense of “why is it even there in the first place?”
